Projects:

UBT Place

This project was the first floor lobby renovation of the iconic bank building designed by world renowned architect I.M. Pei and located in downtown Lincoln,NE.  The design included new bank tellers, offices, and community spaces in the voluminous three-story volume.  The community space included "pop-up" areas for small shops and vendors such as coffee shops, and associated seating areas.

Structural services for this project included design and detailing of the glulam wood arches used to frame the pop-up spaces, the steel-stud-framed and stone clad three-story fire place and framing for the offices.  Structural services also included review of the load capacity of the existing reinforced concrete first floor slab for support of these elements, as well as the ability for mechanical elements to penetrate it.

Most importantly, this building is on the National Historic Registery so any and all connections to the existing floor and walls needed to be sensitive to the building's historic nature.
